The Kastro house
This unique and cozy house is located in the heart of the village of Antiparos. It was built by the Venetians in the 15th century as a part of a complex of 24 houses joined into a square defensive form that surrounded and protected the main tower that used to be there. This complex of houses is called 'Kastro' meaning castle.
The house with its high ceilings, has one bedroom with a double bed, a living room with a corner sofa and a dining table. The small and cozy kitchen is fully equipped.
A wooden balcony faces south toward the internal courtyard of the 'Kastro', which is the oldest part of Antiparos. It´s a perfect spot to drink your early morning coffee or linger over a drink while enjoying this historic view.
The bathroom is located on the back balcony facing the exterior of the complex. Although access to the bathroom is via the back balcony, under the open sky, a wooden structure protects and creates a private space.
The house is a few minute’s walking distance from the port through the main market street and just next to the main square of Antiparos. As you enter the gate of the Kastro every walk home will be a travel through time. Enjoy your holidays in this unique living atmosphere!
